Privacy Policy

Plain-language version of what Rerun collects and why.

What we collect

• Account info: username, email, and password. Your password is stored as a salted hash — nobody at Rerun, including us, can read it back.
• Profile content you choose to add: display name, headline, about-me, mood, interests, city/age/gender/relationship status, a profile photo, a profile song, custom profile CSS, and links you add — each has its own visibility control, and several of the more identifying fields (age, city, relationship status) default to members-only rather than fully public.
• Activity you create: bulletins, wall comments, friend connections, Top 8, private messages between you and another member, photo albums, and (if you use it) your book shelf.
• Reciprocal, opt-in activity data: "who viewed me" only records anything if you've turned it on yourself, and even then only shows you visitors who've also opted in — it's never one-directional. A basic view counter (a number, not a list) runs regardless.
• Moderation data: if you report content or block another member, we store that action (who, what, when, and your optional reason) to act on it and prevent repeat abuse.
• Technical data: IP addresses are used transiently to rate-limit abuse (signups, login attempts, posting) — this is not built into a tracking profile of your activity.

What we don't do

• No ad trackers, no ad network of any kind.
• No selling or renting your data to anyone.
• No algorithmic profiling or targeting based on what you post.
• Your custom profile CSS and any URLs you reference are sanitized server-side before anyone else sees them — this protects other members, not used to profile you.

Who can see what

Most profile fields have their own visibility setting (public, members-only, or friends-only), and profiles themselves can be set public or friends-only. Private messages are only ever visible to their sender and recipient. Suspended accounts and accounts flagged for QA are excluded from public listings and search.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. If you want your account and associated data removed, contact tryrerun@gmail.com.
